Automatically Fitting a Wire into a Frame

As we prep to release the first version of EightShapes Unify, we’ve been working on the templates. As we’ve tidied things up, I found a great time-saving trick. When I place a wireframe into a deliverable template, I always place it into a consistent frame object, styled with the object style “frame.” Turns out, you can set how an object is automatically fit when place into that rectangular frame.

    Take it a step further and set up InDesign (independent of Unify) to always use your preferred frame fit method for any future document.

    With no document open and Rectangle Tool active (won’t work with Rec Frame Tool), select Object > Fitting > Frame Fitting Options and choose your preference. 30-second screencast: http://screencast.com/t/RfzWvyeKIN
