Wireframe Element Libraries

When creating wireframes, you must have a sufficient collection of important symbols you use all the time like form elements, buttons, menus, app icons, and advertisements. This system includes those and more.

Where

/wireframes/_elements

How

Open a library as a panel in your workspace via File > Open or double clicking the file in Windows Explorer or Mac OSX Finder. Once open, drag an item from the panel onto your wireframe.

Available Libraries

    Hello Nathan & Co.

I must say Unify is really impressive!

I really enjoyed watching the tutorials you provided and reading the FAQs — they both really helped me understand the benefits of your work. I am very much looking forward to your tutorials in the future.

It’s obvious that there has been a significant amount of thought and effort into producing this solution. I wanted to state that I really like your attention to detail, right down to how the markers are styled, how they increment and even how you can customise the colour. I kept finding myself thinking, “That’s a good idea” and…. “That’s another good idea”. Great work, thank you so much for making this available.

I really want to roll my sleeves up and begin using this…BUT the only thing that is stopping me is the quality of the elements for the wireframes. I know the elements are just for the mock up but I would like to produce the best quality mocks and the quality of the elements play a big part in communicating my vision – rapidly.

You’ve heard of Konigi right? Their stencil kits are incredible!

It would be an absolute pleasure if I could produce wireframes using your framework with high quality modern wireframe elements such as Konigi’s.

Throughout the interweb I have read that others have commented negatively on the quality of your/Yahoo’s wireframe elements. I therefore hope that you can come to an agreement with Konigi to license their work and scrap the existing icons. Alternatively building custom wireframe elements to support your existing user base and encourage more users to adopt your workflow would also be very very welcomed and benefit your company.

Please take a look at Balsamiq’s element library, not for the style but for the choice. It is really easy to rapidly build a mock up as there are tons of elements, but it’s not a serious contender when compared to indesign and your solution. Interestingly enough IPlotz has created a snippets feature enabling users to contribute their own components to the wider community: (http://iplotz.com/snippet.php). I think Unify needs to seriously consider such an approach. Unify must also provide users with high quality elements and I think you will nail the gap (or at least a-gap) in the rapid prototyping market.

Please let me (and others) know what your plans are for providing new/enhanced wireframe elements – I’m hoping it’s great news!

Finally on another important note (and something for your to consider whilst building the premium video feature)… in the future it would be really helpful if you could present as a video the build of an entire wireframe and deliverable using various tips, tricks and advanced skills – this will teach newbies and those that think they know it all – to actually know it all.

All the best – and thank you.
